Privacy policy

AlphaNature (ABN: 81 672 042 992) is a small Melbourne business. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can access or correct it.

What we collect

  • Orders: your name, email, phone (optional), delivery address and what you bought.
  • Newsletter: your email address, if you choose to sign up.
  • Enquiries: your name, email and anything you send through our contact form.
  • Basic technical data: your IP address, kept briefly to protect our forms from spam and abuse.

We collect this directly from you. You can browse the site without giving us any personal information.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS certified payment provider. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our systems or seen by us. Stripe handles your payment information under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/au/privacy). If you use Afterpay, Zip, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay, that provider's privacy terms also apply.

How we use it

  • To process, deliver and support your order, including order confirmation and shipping emails.
  • To reply to your enquiries.
  • To send our newsletter and offers, only if you've opted in. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time.
  • To meet our legal obligations, such as tax record-keeping.

Who we share it with

We share only what's needed with the services that help us run the store: our payment processor (Stripe), couriers (your delivery details), our email delivery service and our secure website hosting and database providers. Some of these providers may store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect your information. We never sell your personal information.

Cookies and storage

Your shopping bag and light/dark preference are stored only on your device. We don't use analytics or advertising cookies.

Security and retention

Your information is stored in a secure, access-controlled database. Only authorised Alpha Nature staff can see order and customer details. We keep order records for as long as Australian tax law requires, and we delete or de-identify other information when we no longer need it.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information at any time by emailing alphanature.au@gmail.com. We'll respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you think we've mishandled your information, please contact us first at alphanature.au@gmail.com. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
